Food grade glass is what food containers are made from. Things like bottles and jars are food grade glass. Jelly jars, pickle jars, some pop bottles, adult beverage bottles, and so forth are made from food grade glass.
Non-container glass like that is used to make windows, mirrors, and drinking glasses is often treated with chemicals and lead. That means that these types of glass have different melting points. This kind of glass will contaminate the glass recyclables. Therefore, you should not put non-container type glass in the recycling bin. You will need to seek out alternatives to dispose of your windows, mirrors, dishes, Pyrex-type pans, etc.
